It is all Queen Victoria's fault

So, I am blaming a royal for doing something. What did she do? What was that something that was her fault, that shook the continental plates all over the globe?... I will tell you now.

In 1840, Queen Victoria chose to break fashion law, to not wear the traditional coronation robes when she married her cousin, Prince Albert... Instead, she chose (listen to this). she chose to wear a white dress.
It was all over the newspapers around the world, a sensation. She was the top celebrity at the time and women just had to have her look and has been copied ever since.

The colour white had upon this point represented virginity and purity but after the queens' coup, white now came to symbolize wealth and status, and who does not want to look like a million bucks on their wedding day? I absolutely do!

So, today it arrived... ordered online and it is absolutely stunning... Too bad you cannot see it just yet.

I took a big risk ordering a tailormade, fit for a queen, dress on the world wide web where expectation vs. reality sometimes can bite you in the tuchus.

But I don´t see the value in paying for a dress, where the price tag is to pay the shops rent and staff salary on top... I just want to pay for the fabric and the cost to make the dress... So, I decided to gamble and I hit the jackpot... TWICE, times TWO... Yes, you read me correctly, this bride ain't having just 1 dress for the day, it´s not good enough. No, this bride and her bridesmaid, we are changing into night gear, prom night attire as well. White for the day and black for the night, and ALL dresses ordered online, custom made - and FABULOUS!

So, can I recommend that you ditch your local bridal shop, where you pay way more for the dress than you should? Abso-, freakin- lutely!
Do I recommend that you do some research about the tailor, their reviews and pictures? Hecka-, toodle do, I do! Why not? It takes about 3 weeks from order till delivery and it´s cheaper, so if you gamble ahead of the game, you still have time to seek out nearest wedding monger and try again.

A wedding gown represents far more than just a dress. It is also the embodiment of a dream,”
