Movement(al)

Getting from point A to point B in this town without messing about with the other 27 letters ( I am counting the ampersand as well for the sake of being p.c) is close to impossible.
Using public transport requires planning, math skills, a GPS and daily sacrifices to the gods... in my case, a promise of a big plate of cookies for Santa.

To all my friends and foes in Stockholm - SL (Stockholm Local service) is a blessing from the skies compared to the circus going on over here... and I have to pay for this freak show, believe me you...
160€ a month, at least!

My linguistic skills regarding swear words has without a doubt developed by 380000%.
If I were to be the star of my very own reality show the entire thing would be one long bliiiiiiiiiiip!
I will let go of some steam here, but somewhat censured for those sensitive eyes.

These joy rides from hell starts off with 2 different apps - the LUAS (tram) app and the Dublin Bus app, both needed to plan a trip.
This is where the math skills come in handy:

Zandy has two apples. App A informs her that bus X leaves from the city centre at Y o'clock (hopefully). At what time Y must Zandy take the LUAS Z from home according to app B in order to get to bus X in time without her bagging the apples and bashing someone's face in in frustration?
The answer?
You tell me you bliiiiping stupid piece of shite apps!!!

But do they provide me with the correct info? Eeeeehhh... No!
I was so close to starting my mornings with a 50 min walk into the city centre so I could make it on time for the bus to bring me to work since the LUAS from my place didn't start going early enough.
But then one morning, by mistake, I found out that the LUAS has, not one, but two earlier departures from my place that the app didn't feel like telling me.
(Mother bliiiping, bliiip heads, go bliiiiip yourselves!... Don´t know who I am referring to, but...)

Ok, let's say we have our trip sorted and I am on the bus. Now comes the funny part of figuring out where the heck I am supposed to get off... the app tells me one name of my stop and the display onboard the bus tells me something else... IF there is a display monitoring the stops at all! This is why I strongly and highly recommend to use the GPS onboard.
(Bliiiping bliiipers, how bliiiping hard can it be like?)

Ok, it is not all that bad all the time. To end this post in a positive way I will give you the A pluses about public transportation.

1. Wi-Fi is free on the Dublin Bus fleet (great for my GPS:ing)
2. When you get off the bus, you thank the driver.
3. You always leave up your seat for the elderly. Period.

(Blip!)
