Previously on Duchess of Dublin!
I was about to reveal where my snooping around led me... so let's get back to the story.
I found this community on Facebook called Svenskar i Dublin (Swedes in Dublin).

A place to update yourself about what's going on in the city,
for general Q&A or if you're just having an urge to say hi to other fellow Swirish people.

Apparently my meticulously tailored Swedish disguise was so well executed, because I got accepted into the group straight away.
With sweaty palms I started to type... everything went in ultra rapid, my determined index finger on the autocorrecting buttons:
"What are the chances of me getting a job in Dublin?" Aaaaand send!
Social networks are like antlers... 24/7 activity and hard working "labourers". The response was instant and with good news.
As Viking descendants with the most valuable passports in the world, Swedish people are quite sought after on the market - especially within customer service and IT.

I was recommended to update my LinkedIn (a major thing in Ireland) and to post my CV on Top language jobs.ie, where you need to be bilingual, especially within Scandinavian languages.
Man was I bombarded with recruiters calling me, yearning for my flesh! So work hard on your resume, it will pay off!
But a CV (Curriculum Vitae - your "life cycle") is not as easy as it sounds... To sit down and basically brag about all your amazing achievements and why you of all people are the best qualified person to hire has never been a strong side of mine.
But there are ways to wrap a seemingly boring story in gold leaf.
I googled around to see how other people had written their curriculums and then downloaded a template to get the right layout and sat for hours getting it to perfection. With all those fancy schmancy words I got recommended to use, I felt like a totally awsome person to hire.Did I land a job? Yes!
Funny enough not via any of the websites above but in the end via a personal connection.
Ok, on to the living situation!
It's expensive to rent in Dublin so house/flat mates are very common. Still, the rent for a room can easily be between ca 600-1000 euros/month (ca 6000-10000 kr).
Google can offer tons of websites but the most popular one is Daft.ie - Ireland's largest property website.
But to me it felt safer turning to my Swirish comrades on Facebook instead.
And heaven behold! The ant farm was still swarming.
A most amazing girl was moving back to Sweden and her place was mine if I wanted to.
The house was beautiful, the area amazing, close to the city and a fair rent.
"Jag tar det!" (I'll take it!) I hollered.
(This amazing girl later came to be my angel - she was the one who helped me land my job! From the bottom of my heart - thank you Emma! 💜)
A job and a new home, all without setting my foot in the country. What an era we live in! Soon we don't even have to interact with each other at all!
To conclude it all:
this has been my way of doing it amongst several but maybe these guidelines can be a help along the way for some of you.
Looking back at it now it feels to good to be true.

But to be honest, I think I've been blessed with a truckload of luck.
The life of opportunities I've been fighting to get in Sweden for several years but never achieved all came to me within a period of 2 months after I decided to break free and move.
I was never supposed to "make" it in Sweden.
Someone or something somewhere made sure of it so that I could get this dream of mine.
When you're doing the right thing, it can hurt like fucking hell, but you will be rewarded, there's not a doubt in my mind!
